The aircraft was originally designed and developed in Czechoslovakia. The jet is parked on the ramp at the Olympic Regional Airport in Washington State.  The light blue, gray and white camouflage paint scheme, with Ukrainian Air Force markings, give it a unique look.   It was the first trainer aircraft to be equipped with a turbofan engine. The type was exported to thirty countries as a military trainer.  Combat variants in a light attack role have also been produced. It is the most widely used jet trainer in the world.
