The Dolphin Gull (Leucophaeus scoresbii) breeds along the coasts of southern Chile and Argentina and the Falkland Islands. It often nests near seabird colonies, and preys on eggs and nestlings, but is otherwise a generalized scavenger and predator. Despite a population of only 10,000-28,000, its numbers appear to be stable and it is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
