This image shows a small group of US infantrymen occupying a dugout overlooking a battlefield. At this event there was a large network of trenches and dugouts to show guests and visitors just what life was like for the soldier of the second world war. They ate, drank, shaved, wrote letters, smoked and slept in small dugouts exactly like these.\n\nThis image was taken at an outdoor event over the weekend of 11th-13th August 2023, where reenactors, living historians, and members of the public can come to experience what life was like during the second world war, with live demonstrations, battle reenactments, and static displays from all over the world.

Magilligan Army Training Grounds, Londonderry, Northern Ireland, UK. 05/04/2014 - A soldier from the 2 Royal Irish Regiment (reserves, formerly the Territorial Army) of the British Army takes aim from a kneeling position at a target 75m away while he trains on a military firing range with an SA80 assault rifle. The Royal Irish Regiment is a light infantry brigade of the British Army specialising in forward operations, close combat, artillery forward observation, light mechanised duties and logistics.  Soldiers take part in regular training exercises at Magilligan or Ballyhornan in Northern Ireland in conjunction with other Northern Ireland based regiments such as the Royal Artillery, the Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry, Royal Signals and the Royal Armoured Medical Corp.

The 30 Caliber Browning M1919 Medium Machine Gun was an infantry support weapon used extesnively in a variety of roles throughout the second world war. Here we see it set up on its tripod at the edge of a dugout, a perfect position for the gunner to lay down defensive and suppressing fire. The ammunition was belt fed, and visible to the left of the machine gun is the metal ammunition box in which the belt of ammunition is stored. This is a display of the iconic Willys Jeep in a more aggressive reconnaissance role; fitted with a 50 calibre machine gun the jeep was able to provide covering fire for advancing troops or perform rapid assaults, however the lack of armour made it a very fragile combat vehicle.\n\nThis image was taken at an outdoor event over the weekend of 29th July 2023, where reenactors, living historians, and members of the public can come to experience what life was like during the second world war, with live demonstrations, battle reenactments, and static displays from all over the world.
Kyiv, Ukraine - August 14, 2017: The old russian tank near the statue of mother motherland is famous its huge dimansions. Steel statue has lengh 62 m (203 ft) tall upon the museum building with the overall structure measuring 102 m (335 ft) and weighing 560 tons. It was opened in 1981. In bottom part is located Museum of the Great Patriotic War. This place is very popular among tourists.
