Ancient Teotihuacan pyramids and ruins in Mexico City
Monte Albán, one of the earliest cities of Mesoamerica, important for nearly thousand years as the Zapotec socio-political and economic center. It functioned as their capital for 13 centuries between 500 B.C. and 800 A.D. Its impressive architectural remains extend over 6.5 square kilometers.
