The International semi sits on the northside approach to the Pattullo Bridge while the Freightliner tanker with pup sits on the Royal Avenue overpass. Between the opening of the bridge in 1937 and the opening of the '401' Freeway in June 1964, this highway was the original Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy. 1) route to the Fraser Valley and the B.C. interior and the Pacific Highway (Hwy. 99) route to the U.S. border.
