Laura's gut feeling was that it would be the synchro pair, and it turned out she was right. Monty managed to get his plane safely back on the ground, but Lingy wasn't so lucky and had to eject - not a lot of fun. He's alive, but he's got a dislocated shoulder and some cuts and bruises. And his poor plane is scrap spread across half of Crete. Lingy the Bear is still too upset to really speak about it, but Big Lingy felt able to start expressing some get well soon messages to Flt. Lt. Mike Ling in hospital in Crete. Some people really will do anything to get out of running the London Marathon! We're gutted, but glad that everyone is basically ok. Big Lingy asked me, on behalf of all three of them, to express his thanks to Hawker Siddeley, BAE Systems, all of the fast jet instructors at RAF Valley, and his VERY special friend Martin Baker for all of their very hard work in making sure that even when it goes wrong...it goes right.
