Today has been socially busy, as straight after work I met up with a couple of lovely students who I worked with a few years ago, then it was a meal for my brother's girlfriend. Both of these were in pubs, and my mobile camera just isn't up to it. So today's pic is Laura's shiny shoes. She's just put in for a job in the local Hospital, for which she's abundantly over qualified (and that's not always helpful), and as always with the NHS an informal visit really helps to grease the wheels. That's what she was doing today. The lab wasn't as slick or well equipped as the labs she was used to in Finland, but investment in infrastructure has effectively stopped whilst they wait for their new building. What's important was that the people were very friendly, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that she at least makes the shortlist. :) I know that I've photographed shoes before, but I'm not some kind of fetishist!
