My opinions on this one are divided. Yes, the existing building is an abomination, but the hospital's problems are largely not bricks and mortar ones. Still, that's another tale. From lots of places around my walks I get to see the tower cranes that are on site, and I was fairly convinced there were four. Then I noticed yesterday that there seemed to be six, and that merited further exploration. I had an early morning walk today which took me round the back of the site and I was shocked to see no less than SEVEN tower cranes. As I got closer though, it seems that two of them are actually working on an adjacent building which I'm assuming to be associated with the University of Liverpool. That still leaves five cranes for the hospital, and here they all are. It was early morning and I was shooting into the sun so this is an HDR composite, but I think I got a fairly natural look for it. Construction on the new Royal Hospital is gathering pace.
