It was sent to her whilst she was working on Lazarus Ward at Guys Hospital, London (where she was recorded as working as early as 1901). The writing is that of someone who sent several cards to her over the course of the war, but I can't make out the initials on this one. The next card from this sender was in May 1915, and the initials look bit like emd or eml. Trying to transcribe the writing, the best I can make out is: "Boulogne 14.5.14 Had a perfect crossing. Now we are on the train & going right through to Milan. Get there tomorrow evening. Then on to Florence & Perugia [? see comments] but don't know when exactly.
