Caption reads, “Originally designed as a battle cruiser to carry two 18” and secondary armament of 5.5” guns, this ship was altered during completion in 1916. The forward 18” gun being removed and a hangar and flying off deck substituted. Later on, the after gun was taken out of her and an alighting deck fitted.
