They are in bags at the end of the garden, which used to be overshadowed by large sycamore trees. The trees were removed last year by the council but the roots remain. You can see one of them between two of the bags. We have been able to plant a few beans in some areas against the fence but we can't plant much else directly into the soil. The good news is that we have spotted lesser stag beetle larvae munching their way through some of the roots. The potatoes are doing well.
