I pray for the safety of Melbournians should one day if we ever need those Fire Hyrdrant and Fire Hose Reel. Inconspicuous Signs would result in delayed detection and alert of the location of the Fire Hose Reel and Hydrant where a few seconds delay in retrieving the fire fighting equipment could mean the management of the building, celebrities, politicians or even yourself and your loved ones being burned to death. I hope that in future designs, we could choose aesthetic design over practical functionality especially when it concerns physical safety of yourself and others. I love Melbourne, Australia and everything good for the sake of our future generations. Imagine the fire fighters are looking for the fire hydrant to fight the fire. Would a few seconds or a few minutes difference in locating the fire hydrant quickly mean the difference in putting out the fire and saving more lives? What if those lives trapped in the burning building belongs to the management, celebrities, politicians, government officials, elites, rich and powerful people, your loved ones and/or your own lives? What action would you take instead of brushing this observation off due to interesting politically correct reasons? In that case, perhaps we can do away all conspicuous fire signs and equipment as that could be additional cost to the management to install which would in turn reduce the profitability of the building and management bonus. Should all signs be painted as shown in the above picture instead of contrasting colours such as red background and white font? What could designers learn from this observation in their future designs? Could designers use this observation as an additional selling point to command more profits for their design of conspicuous signs? Would this observation generate jobs? retail melbourne australia
