This was how I learned the ground is an ocean. Slow and stable, it's ever-moving. Taking in lot markers, churning up foxes' bones. I saw this wall today (a wall I've passed many times) and suddenly thought "It's a dam." And it is. Keeping the sluggish ocean from splashing all over the road.
