It seems that the Reds have devised a sure fire way of reducing their operational overheads by 90%! They've run simulations and concluded that once the planes are in the air people don't really have a frame of reference, and so scale isn't actually important. Working with the Scale Model Association they've managed to very cheaply produce a whole fleet of quarter scale hawk jets that look absolutely authentic. They couldn't assure the safety of them using remote control, but that's where the Bioengineering unit at QinetiQ stepped in. They've developed a regressive gene therapy programme that can take the pilots and make them physically younger whilst retaining all their faculties. Having volunteered to go first, Perty confided in me that he had mixed feelings. He's saving a fortune in VAT free kiddies clothes but he's having absolute murder getting served in the pub. Boom-tish! This young pilot of the future was at the table behind us and he really knows how to dress for an airshow!
