On January 11, the annual AMS WeatherFest was held prior to the start of the 96th Annual Meeting. Open to weather enthusiasts of all ages, this annual weather fair is one of the most popular events at the AMS Annual Meeting. Parents, teachers, kids, youth groups, and others spent the afternoon learning about the weather and participating in fun activities. The NOAA Satellite and Information Service had a booth at the event, staffed by GOES-R, JPSS and NCEI personnel. At the booth, participants could spin the “Wheel of Science” for a chance to answer questions about weather and win prizes.
