A moment later the deep burning sensation across her furry abdomen brought momentary distraction from a stomach’s impatient rumbling. She snorted. It had been a long day. Prowling the Elephant Graveyard had not yielded any morsels aside from the usual decaying bones. Those would not do; she wanted something fresh. Crouched up here, she could survey the desert while shadows lengthen out of every dune. Her eyes darting back and forth, she waited patiently for her evening meal to deliver itself unto her.
